Luthien’s wound had now been healed and she was out of the Healing Houses, being able to walk on her leg again. She couldn’t run laps but she still was able to walk for a while before it would hurt again. She knew that the rehabilitation would take a while, not that she minded- she didn’t even remember how she had gotten this, at least, these humans had been kind enough to bring her to their home. She was very thankful for them. She still didn’t trust them all however, everyone who was new to her would make her nervous at first considering that they weren’t from the same race and all. She supposed that she would eventually get used to it. Either way, she was quite surprised when she saw a young woman popping near her as she walked and stopped, watching her get all excited over the fact that she wasn’t the only woman around the house and before she could object against it, she was dragged around the place, Miroesa, it seemed to be her name, claimed that she wanted to do activities with her so they would get to know each other better. She was a bit sceptical at first about it, knowing that she barely knew anything, or barely remembered much of herself considering that she was amnesiac. It was early in the morning, but the sun was bright and warm. She kept a close eye to the princess who seemed to be overly happy at the current time and once they walked enough, her leg needed to rest, so, Miro proposed embroidery. She was okay with this, even though she didn’t remember most of it, as soon as Miro handed her one to do of her own, she started doing the pattern of a flower while Miro worked on the one she had been doing lately. They were sitting outside, enjoying the temperature and the sun. It sure was peaceful around there. She liked; it was less of a change than being in the town, for sure. “Do you like the town so far?” Miro asked as she focused on her work while speaking. “How is your leg I hope it’s fine, we can go to the healing houses if you like.” She continued before Luthien shook her head. “It’s...big I presume and don’t worry, my leg is fine.” She answered simply as she let the younger woman speak her mind. She sure was a strange one.

Luthien was an enigma. Sure, her leg was better and she could walk without any problem, but her memory had not yet returned to her. Who was she, that was the question. His father the steward wanted more information on her, the reasons she was here and all but they couldn’t get anything from her memory loss. Awfully convenient for her but in the same time, if they were a little suspicious of elves, she was not an orc and they knew never would elves team up with Mordor. Then came the problem of finding out what to do with her. She had no idea who she was, where she was from. She could tell she was different because of her language and her ears but no one around here spoke elvish and could tell which language was hers to help find out from which region she was from. And they had too much problem for now to send out people to find out where she was from. Surely, hearing nothing from their scouts, they’d come on their own. They could not send her alone either, after all. So she was to stay here for the time being.
Boromir had servants prepare her a room in the steward’s house, so she’d stay close from them to watch her. His father did still not fully trust her. After all elves never did anything to help them so far. Having other things to take care however, Boromir didn’t take the time to give her a tour or even warn his cousin of the presence of the woman. He had to train and talk of strategies and all with his fathers and other soldiers. Important matters.
The first of his duties done, meeting a training, Boromir was riding back towards the citadel. He had some time between this and the meeting with his father and brother. He made the turn around the castle walls to the stables, stopping as he saw his cousin with Luthien. A light smile came to his lips. You could really trust Miroesa to find out soon enough and take things in hands. She was always so lonely around here. There was no court anymore, those days were gone. Luthien was to her a fine distraction for sure.
He dismounted and walked towards them instead. “Enjoying some time under the sun, cousin?” he asked the young princess before his eyes went to Luthien, studying her. Perhaps she’ll have a calming effect on the girl, sure would be good.

Luthien focused onto her embroidery; she may not have been one of the bests at this but it was somewhat relaxing despite the fact that she didn’t consider herself as someone very talented unlike how Miroesa seemed to be. She appreciated however the company of the woman who didn’t seem not to trust her for once, she wasn’t blind, even that one man who lead the way towards the place didn’t seem to fully trust her. Why was this? What had they done so they wouldn’t? She remembered vaguely of things that were said about humans but not trusting her memory, she decided not to believe these. They found themselves to be still of good company and they did nothing to harm her because after all, they could’ve leave her to death and they didn’t. Miro didn’t even seem to be bothered by her company and could talk for the two of them. Whenever Luthien said that she didn’t remember, she changed of subject, just to have a decent conversation. She wished to remember though, if only. It would help them all including herself. She perked up slightly as she heard the sound of a horse coming closer and noticed it was the man in question... what was his name again? She blinked, recognizing his face as he spoke to Miroesa who grinned slightly. “Of course! I wanted to continue my work here.” She showed him the figure of her horse. “It’s good isn’t it? I think Luthien’s flower is pretty too!” She said as she peeked onto Luthien’s work, making the woman a little embarrassed over it, knowing it was far from looking like the work the younger girl could do. “Do elves do these kinds of things?” She questioned to the woman who shrugged. “Probably but I think we’re more into music...and art than embroidery.” She said feeling awful not to be able to give a decent answer.

From afar, Boromir had not been able to tell what they were doing besides sitting outside. But as they got closer, he saw the embroidery. Well, at least they were occupied. He didn’t know which one of them he preferred to have things to do, to tell the truth. Luthien wouldn’t have to try to remember things she couldn’t and feel frustrated about this and Miroesa was not running around or talking to people her rank shouldn’t let her talk to or disturbing those who had work.
Arrived at their side, he took a look at Miro’s work, mainly because she was nearly stuffing it in his face. “Are you suddenly taking yourself for a lady of Rohan? I thought your emblem was the swan.” he said before, since she was talking of it, looking at Luthien’s work. It was simpler than the elaborate horse Miroesa did but in the same time he had the feeling it was more complex than it looked. Then again, he knew nothing of embroidery and doubted he would ever.
His cousin then questioned her and Boromir couldn’t help but feel slightly sorry for her, knowing it shouldn’t be easy to answer the questions she was giving her, and no doubt she had many. “But if they do, flowers and leaves sure seem the obvious thing for them to embroider.” he replied. After all, weren’t elves all about nature? “I hope my cousin isn’t embarrassing you with all of her questions. She can be a little... over enthusiastic when she wants to.” he added, not really caring said cousin was standing right there next to them. Someone had to point it out to her.

Miro laughed slightly at Boromir’s question and shook her head. “Well, I presume I am one for now but I made the swan already, I wanted to do this one for Starlight.” She said with a grin, speaking of her horse. Luthien didn’t seem to understand much and arched an eyebrow. “Oh! Starlight is my horse, I will show her to you, she’s beautiful.” She claimed happily before returning to her work. Luthien nodded, horses were indeed beautiful creatures and her favorites. The interaction between the two cousins made her smile a little, as they spoke of people of her race. It was funny how they spoke about her race without even really knowing them. She wasn’t offended by this because she didn’t know much of humans either.
Miroesa looked offended as her cousin spoke of her to the woman. “Hey! I’m not that bad! And it’s better to have company when you’re alone, isn’t it?” She said wanting to prove the fact that shew wasn’t as over enthusiastic as he presumed she was.”Besides, what were you doing? You have free time?” she asked and turned to Luthien. “Maybe you can sing something Elfin for us?” She asked to Luthien with big eyes, thus, making the woman stop doing her work and stared at the girl. “I’m not sure I remember much of it...” she said hesitating a little. She remembered being complimented on her pretty voice back then but would she remember a song?
“I’m sure everything will just sound pretty!” She insisted as her smile grew bigger.

He raised an eyebrow, wondering why she’d want to make one for her horse. Oh well, Miroesa tended to do things her way. If she wanted a memento of the creature, she could, he would not stop her. Plus, like he previously thought, it occupied her, it was time when she was not having people running after her, or playing with servants or going after him. So, all in all, it was a good thing.
He smiled briefly at her enthusiasm when she explained who Starlight was to Luthien. Someone her age would normally be a lot more mature than this. She’d be most certainly married, taking care of her household and all. But Miroesa had an innocent, child’s soul.
He nearly laughed when she looked offended. Like he said, Miro wasn’t good at keeping down her emotions. “I’ve inspected the stables and trained a little.” he explained when she questioned him about it. Yes, he had free time but he was not entirely sure he wanted to spend it with his cousin. They had twenty or so years of difference in age and it showed. Plus, having grown to become a fighter, a leader and one day a steward, Boromir was really not like her.
Soon, Miro’s interested went from her cousin to the young elf. He frowned as she asked for a song and saw Luthien hesitate. “I don’t think it’s her voice her problem, Miroesa. But if she has hard time remember her name and where she is from, I doubt she can recall any song.” he pointed out gently, hoping it might calm her down and cut some loose to the woman who surely had enough to deal with already.

Miro never took an offence to what her cousin was telling her; at least, when he said that she was hyper. It was better to be happy nowadays or else she would still be dwelling in despair about the loss of her family; she had to be strong. She was lucky enough not to be married already and she was thankful about this. No man would want a sad wife wouldn’t they?
She nodded as he told her what he had done so far. “I showed to our friend here the place a little but we needed to stop for a while due to her leg.” She explained gesturing down at Luthien. The woman nodded at the younger girl’s words and focused back on her work. After all, the man who had helped her only came to speak to his cousin so unless he was addressing to her, she would focus back onto her work.
As the conversation went to her musical talents, Luthien barely listened to the two cousins argue to each other as she tried to remember something, not wanting to disappoint the younger girl, she dug through her memories to see if she couldn’t remember of anything while staring at her embroidery. Miroesa believed that it wouldn’t be hard to remember a song and soon, she remembered vaguely of one, which she started singing in her own language. Trying to remember the lyrics, she placed her embroidery onto her lap as she stared at the grass. Miroesa stopped talking as soon as she heard the woman; she didn’t understand anything but she thought it was a beautiful language and even remained quiet the entire time she sang until Luthien stopped. “That’s all... I remember.” She finished, placing a lock of her hair behind her ear before continuing her embroidery.

Boromir stared at Luthien when his cousin mentioned she showed the palace to her. Well, at least she had someone to keep her company and show her around. Boromir was not really the most courteous man, but it wasn’t because he was naturally rude. He simply had so many things to think about, so many lives to put in consideration that he had no time for politeness and protocol. Otherwise, he would have told her about Gondor, his family, the citadel and city. But between that and planning the defence of the whole kingdom, the choice was easy. If she really was a scout and so a soldier to a lord, she would understand. Even Miroesa understood for sure. She might be hyper and all, but she was not dumb.
He tried to explain a song might not be this easy to remember. It was not exactly the most important thing after all. And if Luthien wanted to recall something, it would surely be more her family, her land than a song. He didn’t want to hurt Miroesa by saying this, just make sure she wouldn’t be forcing Luthien too hard or be disappointed herself. It wasn’t the woman’s fault after all.
But then her voice made them stop talking. It was hesitant a bit as she obviously tried to remember it. And it was not in their language for sure. The two remained silent as she sang softly. It wasn’t a long song, or perhaps it was but as she said it was the only thing she remembered. “I suggest you thank her, Miroesa. She made an effort to please you, and it was a beautiful song.” he said to his cousin. Surely, she’d be thankful. But now he worried she’d be asking Luthien to do all sorts of things, with the excuse that one thing might remind her of anything. “Perhaps you two would like to ride a little. Or you at least, Miroesa. The stable master told me your horse was growing agitated again and needed to gallop more.” he told her, proposing the ride now, though not forcing it on them. Maybe her leg would hurt too much. But since he was going there, it reminded him of what the man told him about Starlight and so suggested this. Not like he had to accompany them anyway...

Miroesa smiled, proud at herself as she listened to the woman singing until she was done, she clapped her hands. “That was indeed beautiful, Luthien!” She exclaimed brightly. She nodded at what Boromir said and thanked the woman. Luthien shook her head not minding it. Maybe she would be able to remember of more things if she ever had to. Maybe the song would help her remember of her land and her people, who knows? Luthien paid attention to Boromir as he proposed a horse ride. She nodded, thinking that she would be able to stand up by now. As long as it wasn’t too long, she’d be fine with it.
Miroesa perked up and nodded as well. “Yes, I would like to horse ride, are you fine with this, Luthien?” The woman gave them both a small smile. “I have no problems with this.” She replied as Miroesa stood up. “Let us get horses and we will join you here.” The princess said before taking both of their embroidery and walking with Luthien to the stables. Luthien paused for a few moments, until they were at a fair distance from Boromir. “Princess, what is the name of the man? I can’t seem to remember it..” she said with a low voice. Miro stopped walking for a few moments, observing the woman as she spoke. “What? You can’t remember the name of your knight in shining armour?” she asked surprised. Luthien shook her head at the girl’s question sighing, unaware of Miro’s description about Boromir. “His name is Boromir.” They started walking again and Miro lead them both to the stables. “Boromir...” she said wishing to remember of his name once and for all. “Or you can call him Bobo.” She added with a giggle but waving her hand in a dismissing manner to tell the woman she was only kidding.
The men who worked there grabbed the embroidery and helped the two girls to mount their horses. Miro petted Starlight and watched Luthien getting used to hers and soon she lead the way to Boromir. “Where do you want to head to? I was thinking we could show her the beauties of our land.” She suggested.

Boromir followed them at a distance, holding the reins of his horse. They would still have to get their horses ready so he could take his time. He could tell Miroesa was talking a lot to Luthien but the woman didn’t seem to be this bothered about it. At least she didn’t seem bothered too much about her. He knew Miroesa didn’t mean to be rude or clingy, she was bored all alone. And he guessed she was also afraid of ending up all alone, with what happened to her family, to her. It was why he tried to spend some time with her when he could. But with the war and all, those moments were rare.
He had no idea what they were talking about though he did frown when Miroesa giggled. Well, whatever they talked about, must have been funny...
He joined them as their horses were being taken care of by the stable boys. He said which one to give Luthien, despite their hesitation. It was not one of the army’s but a royal horse. He preferred it this way, in case a soldier might come to take a horse. They had no right to take the steward’s or his sons’ ones, and since his father had not been riding for quite some time...
Finally everyone was ready. His cousin turned around, looked at the land and proposed to show it to Luthien. “We can bring her across the Pelennor Fields or the woods nearby, but only for a short time. You go there without an escort and I have a meeting later on, I can’t let you stay there alone.” he warned her, just so she wouldn’t try to stay longer than what they decided. Since they were going most certainly near the woods, they gave him a bow and arrows. It would serve as both defence and in case they’d want to hunt. With that, he mounted his horse and directed them in a fast pace towards the doors of the city so they could reach the fields.

Miro was happy that her cousin wanted to spend time with her. She wasn’t aware of his true reason but she still enjoyed not being alone for once. The company of Luthien was only doing her good. To know that she wasn’t the only girl around, to know that she could actually talk to someone without making them awkward made her feel better about herself. She had gone through a lot and she could tell that Luthien had too! Especially if you considered the wound she had gotten on her leg and her amnesia.
She let her cousin do the talking as Luthien was next to her while they were at the stable. She would be using a royal horse? It was nice of him. Luthien accepted it and mounted it, helped by the stable men she did fine. Miro also got onto her horse and once they were all set, she looked at Boromir, speaking his mind about her proposition. She was certain that Luthien would like this!
Luthien listened to the two cousins speaking to each other. She was thankful that she could understand their language; she was pretty aware that she’d be completely lost and hopeless if it wasn’t the case. The thought made her frown but as soon as they talked about the serene, her head perked up and she listened to them. It’d be nice to go near the forest, or the fields. She liked to explore around.
Miro nodded and glanced at Luthien, wanting the woman to take the decision. “Which you prefer? I don’t think we’ll have time to visit both, I’ll let you pick.” She said, giving a smile to the woman who pondered about it before making up her mind. “The fields will be fine, for now.” She replied with a slight nod.

Having someone with her to talk to, to do things with, and most of all another woman, seemed to do a lot of good to his cousin Miroesa. The poor girl had been neglected since she brought her in the capital. In her hometown, she had certainly been pampered and spoiled, and if the servants sure were ready to answer her every demand, she no longer had the friends from her court. And Boromir had to admit there were very little company for someone as young as her. His father was definitely not the type of man who’d walk around the citadel and grant her every wish. As for himself, or his brother, as much as they liked her and were ready to please her when they could, they had much more important matters to take care of. Luthien’s presence in that context was then warmly welcomed. Maybe she was an elf, but also a woman with whom Miroesa could talk of women things with. And they both went through a lot, even if Luthien couldn’t recall most of it.
There definitely was a change in his cousin as she didn’t try to convince to delay his meeting or let her wander at will despite having no escort. She liked to do things her way for sure. Luthien was apparently a fighter but he had yet seen her in action. Besides, she was no servant of Gondor. He didn’t doubt her capacities, but it was not her job to protect Miroesa. He would not let it happen.
His cousin let the elf decide where they’d go. After all, the woman probably never saw their land while Miroesa had mounted her horse in the fields or the woods more than once since she was born. Boromir waited for her answer and nodded as she chose the fields. There were some woods nearby in case she wanted to see some forest. Had she not been amnesiac, he would have proposed it, so it could remind her of home. But a forest was a forest and in her state he doubted it would remind her of anything.
He hit the flanks of his horse to make it gallop, making sure to keep both ladies in sight. They’d slow down once arrived at the fields. He gave the password to open each and every door that could block their way and directed them to the Pelennor Fields. One of the reasons why he gave Luthien a royal horse was because they were raised to follow his horse when not properly handled. Sure, when he brought her to Gondor she didn’t fell off her horse but he had no idea how skilled she was. He figured it was best to make it as easy as possible for her.
They finally reached the plain and Boromir slowed down the pace. He looked at it, at the mountains far away that you could still see thanks to the low ground. He made his horse turn so he could look at the girls. He’d let them decide what they’d do. He basically was protection here, nothing else.
