Keann directed the client to the door after he paid, discussing with him of everything and nothing. Thankfully, the man did not talk of the recent ball. Either he was being polite to the jeweler or he wasn't there. He, who never could stand wine that much drank far too much and made a fool of himself. He could not even recall how he went back to his home. He bet Arien and her friends helped him out. Did he punch the guy in the end? And did he really throw up in the street like he vaguely recall or was it still at the palace? Either way, Keann felt terribly embarrassed. He did not talk to Arien since that day, thinking she was probably ashamed of his behavior, at least as much as he was.
Luckily, whatever happened did not affect his work. Nobles still come to him for a jewel or plates and goblets they wanted their crest engraved in. In fact, one just asked him to do so on nearly thirty chalices, which would occupy him for a while. A good thing for that would prevent him to think about Arien.
As soon as the client exited his shop, Keann went to the back, where his tools of trade were and started the commission given to him. He didn't eat of the day and started to starve but he wanted to finish at least a goblet or two before doing anything else. Anyway, his father left home earlier and would probably come soon, with food certainly, knowing his son.

Laurë sighed as Keann’s father gave her a tour of the town. Everything was so weird, she came from a small town, and now she arrived here, where everything was big and where there were too much people in to be annoyed with. She was pained and her uncle noticed it, she wasn’t as talkative as she used to nor as curious as she used to. Perhaps it was the town.
Laurë blinked at the various smells who attacked her nose. All her senses were increased than a normal human’s for she had elfin genes. She could see farther, ear smaller sounds and smell anything but this wasn’t pleasant in a town like this. At least in woods, there only had pretty smells. She wished she could run away and go back home. The only good thing she could think about at the moment was that it was much warmer than where she used to live at.
They went to a shop to get some food and soon her uncle lead her to where she would be living from now on, along with her cousin that she hadn’t seen since she was five...or maybe since a longer time, she didn’t remember much.
When they arrived, the shop didn’t look that bad. The man pushed the door open calling for Keann, claiming that he got food and that he must be craving. He also said that he had a surprise. Really, she didn’t see herself as a surprise. She frowned a bit as she placed her luggage on the floor looking around at what was going on and waiting for her uncle to give her the go and be at ease.

Keann had only started the outline of the crest when the door opened again, the door near it ringing nicely in the shop. As he heard his father's voice, claiming he brought food, a small smile appeared on his lips. he could always count on his father to look up for him. He frowned though as he said he brought a surprise.
For a second, he feared his father went to Arien's shop and brought her here. He knew the man wished for his son to marry and also knew of his liking for the dressmaker. And since Keann refused to go see her ever since the ball... But as he went back in the shop, he saw it was not Arien.
It was a girl, one he had no knowledge of. For him to talk the way he did, he understood she was no client. His father had more professionalism than that! But he could not replace her. He approached, frowning some more as he saw the luggages by her side. "Wh-what is this about, father?" he asked the man.
Jossian however, took his time unwrapping the food he bought on a counter and separating into three parts for the three of them. He took a bite of it before looking at his son. "You don't recognize your own cousin Keann!? true you two were very young last time you met. Why don,t you bring us something to drink boy?" he said.
Keann blinked, trying to remember any cousin. He vaguely recalled an aunt of his, sister of Jossian. But that was ages ago. One of the very few trips he made out of town of his entire life. As his father called his name again and repeated his demand for drinks, Keann went looking for some beer and three mugs for them. His father gulped down almost half of it as Keann kept looking at his cousin, wondering what she was doing here. His father answered the silent question. "Her mother cannot take care of her anymore. She asked me to take her in and help her find a fine work... or a fine husband." Keann made a small nod, stills taring at the young girl before his eyes. Hard to believe they were family, they were like strangers in fact. He finally advanced a stool for her to sit by the counter and eat with them.

Laurë gazed at the shop and the few creations that they had made. She couldn’t deny their beauties. Perhaps it wouldn’t be as bad as she assumed it would. Soon her cousin arrived, making her blink and stare at him as if he was some kind of stranger and apparently, she got the same reaction out of him. He certainly grew up compared to last time she had seen him and he didn’t look like her memories reminded her.
She was a bit awkward though when Jossian introduced her cousin to her. How could he not remember? It was true that they hadn’t seen each other since ages but still, she frowned wishing that the awkwardness would just fade away so she could go to her room and lock herself for the rest of her life. However, eating seemed to be like a good idea first. It had been ages since she had had a decent meal. Living with Jossian and her cousin wouldn’t be filled with only bad things.
She didn’t care much about what the two men were talking about, being lost in her own thoughts. It was only when Keann brought a stool for her to sit that she brought her luggage closer to what looked like a table and sat down along with her.”Thank you.” She muttered. She grabbed a piece of bread, not in the mood to talk much as she stared at her new family.

Apparently, Laurë seemed just as quiet as he was. He didn't mind, in fact it would be good for the apartment above the shop was rather small, if she was a noisy one, that would cause problems. But she seemed very in her place. He tried to remember her, but it was hard. He believed she was rather turbulent, running everywhere, very curious and all. Then again, almost every children are like that. He was the exception, not her. Still, if she was that lively, seeing her like this just made it weird.
He decided not to think about it much and ate a little with the two, taking a sip of beer, but very little. He couldn't hold alcohol, even beer. And he had work to do. "How are the goblets coming?" his father asked. Keann finished what was in his mouth before answering. "It's coming along, I finished four so far. I warned him it would take time, he didn't seem to mind much." Jossian nodded and the silence returned between them.
After a moment though, his father broke the silence again. "I've showed her the city a little, well this tier. It's big enough like that." Keann nodded to it. It's true that Minas Tirith was a huge town with many tiers or levels and so it was easy to get lost. One tier at a time should be enough for now. Besides, everything she might need could be found around. "I thought she might work with Arien at her shop, that would give her some money for herself." his father let out, staring at his son, waiting for his response. Keann froze at it, of course. He knew what it would mean, to ask Arien for his cousin to work with her. He'd have to accompany Laurë, and actually see and talk to Arien. He knew he'd have to do it someday but now he felt trapped. For his father's idea was not a bad one. He hesitated a moment, gulping with difficulty. "Y-yes. If Laurë wants to work, of course, I-i guess I can g-go talk to her." he replied, unable to prevent himself from stuttering as he grew nervous at the idea. "Why don't you go showing her the shop when you have some time. But Laurë might want to rest first. You did made a long journey to come here." his father said, the last sentence meant to Laurë as he looked at his niece with a warm smile.

Laurë didn’t have much to say at the moment. She still needed to cope that her mother didn’t want of her anymore, just like her father apparently abandoned them. She didn’t like the idea but she knew that there were no ways for her to do anything, at least for now. She needed to be nice and obey to her hosts. She didn’t want to take too much room as well for she was still a bit awkward to what was going on. She was glad that Jossian started a conversation with his own son, it distracted her a little.
She listened to them talking about goblets. She would’ve liked to see them but she assumed it wouldn’t be the time for her to ask them if she could see these. Besides, even if it would keep her distracted she still wanted to rest and get over her day. With all the emotions she had to cope, it made it hard for her to remain calm and nice while she felt like throwing everything that was around her away.
However, they started speaking about a woman, Arian. The young girl couldn’t help but blink and smirk seeing her cousin’s reaction. Oh? Did it seem like the man had a crush on this girl called Arien? Well then, this might be interesting and distracting from her worries. Not to add that if she worked with the woman, she could try and see what is going on between the two. She looked up at her uncle as he mentioned that she might want to rest. Yes, she was tired but she wanted to see what was going on with that Arien. “I can cope, I’m tough...” she claimed with mischievous eyes. “I wouldn’t mind going there this evening.” She mused eying her cousin wanting to see and study his reaction to her words.

Keann startled a little as she said she'd like to go there this evening. Now he definitely was trapped. He couldn't really say no to them. And he knew his father was quite able to invent an excuse for himself to avoid going. It was so obvious the man wanted his son to speak with her. He was destabilized by the gaze Laurë gave him. She wasn't there for more than a few minutes and she already was playing with him like his father!
Gulping once more, he finished his food, almost stuffing it in his mouth. He turned to go back to the working area. "Alright, this evening after working hours, so we won't disturb her." he managed to say without stuttering as he went back to his goblet. Jossian had a wider smile on his face, happy that his son would finally talk to the lady of his dream. He too had no idea of what happened at the ball, if things were being said or what. He only saw his son, almost passed drunk, carried by a man as he was brought back home. The reason for his son to drink remained unknown to him.
The meal over, he cleaned the counter. "Come, I'll show you where you will stay." he said to Laurë as he directed her to the stairs and the apartment above where he had already prepared a small place for her, a divider giving her some intimacy since he had no more rooms for her to use.

Laurë became quite eager about her evening now; everything would perhaps turn out to be quite interesting and fun for her own entertainment! She didn’t remember her cousin being so shy with the opposite gender but now that she realized this, it would be quite fun to play along with this. Not to add that Jossian seemed to know something about him and this girl Arian. She nodded and grinned as Keann capitulated to both of hers and Jossian’s wishes to meet the woman.
Once the meal was over, her uncle told her that he would show her, the place she would stay at and nodded standing up. She grabbed her luggage and followed him to their apartment. It wasn’t big, but it wasn’t small either. It was enough for them two, at least she had enough room herself and she was glad that he thought about her intimacy for she was now living with two men.
“Thank you Jossian, I am grateful.” She told him with a small blow as she installed herself for some comfort. She couldn’t hide she was rather eager to meet this woman they talked about earlier. She wanted to see the show that Keann would give her once he’d have to talk to the lady. She didn’t ask to her uncle however, fearing it might cross boundaries which was why she just kept on installing herself after he explained her everything about the apartment. Time passed rather quickly to her surprise and she went downstairs dressed in a light blue dress and ready to go see who was this Arien.

Keann didn't see the time passing by as he worked on the goblets. People always seemed to believe it was easy, just trace it and then you're done but it was more complex than that. Some lines had to go deeper to add the proper effect. And there was many little details to work on. People might think one or two a day was slow, but it was actually quite normal.
He understood it was the evening as Laurë walked down the stairs, waiting for him to show her the shop. Inside, he had hoped she would have fell asleep or say she was too tired and would meet her some other time. Or that she wanted time to think what she wanted to do of her life before visiting establishment for a job. But no, there she was, all ready to go.
Keann sighed. After quickly cleaning his hands and passing a cloth on his face, he walked out with Laurë. The shop was not all that far and even if he did his best to take his time, he was soon in front of the shop. During the walk there, he remained silent, trying to think of something to say to Arien as they'd meet. Arrived, Keann knocked at the door. The shop may be closed, but, for being a shop owner himself, he knew you were working hours after closing time. Still, he secretly wished she was not home.

Laurë didn’t speak as she saw that her cousin noticed that she was ready. She could feel that he was not eager at all to go meet this woman which made her wonder about what happened to make him feel that way for with what she seemed to understand from her uncle’s attempts that he had liked the woman, or at least had a crush on her.
She looked at Keann cautiously as they walked to the shop. It was calmer, and there had less people in the evening which made her feel better about the big town. She wasn’t scared about being lost of course, for she had a good sense of direction but still, coming from a small village and arriving into something as big as what her cousin was living in was a shock. Everything was more up to date and there were even a few things she had never seen in her life. She would have to spend some day looking around this big town, even if she disliked the smells it was still a pretty town.
Within a few minutes, they arrived in front of the shop and she noticed Keann’s nervousness as he knocked on the door which made her smirk a little while she waited to see the infamous Arien.
Being busy with a new dress, Arien didn’t see the time passing by. Her whole day was busy and she was worrying on top of that, about Keann since she had never seen him since the ball. Sure she had been surprised by his behaviour but couldn’t help and show a smile as he ‘defended’ her claiming she was his. She had to admit that it was rather...cute out of him knowing that he wasn’t the one who would stand up for himself.
Hearing knocks on the door, she decided to take a break and stood up from her stool as she wandered through the shop and opened the door to see Keann, thus getting her surprised about it and a younger female, which made her arch an eyebrow, curiously wondering about what it was all about. “Keann! I was starting to worry for you not showing up!” She exclaimed giving him a small hug to Laurë’s amusement. She slowly pulled away now eying the teen. “Who might that be?” She asked looking back at him.

Keann wished Arien was not at her shop but he knew that wouldn't happen. And, as he expected, she came and opened the door for them. His breath got stuck in his chest as he saw her. She was just as beautiful as ever. Maybe others were not seeing it but he did.
He felt a blush tainting his cheeks as she hugged him in front of his cousin. He could not see Laurë but he bet she was enjoying the scene. Keann, on the other, felt very embarrassed. He was still feeling shameful for his behavior at the ball, whatever happened after his third glass of wine. Now that Arien told him she was worried for not hearing from him since, he had no idea what to do. People had never been his forte.
When she asked who was with him, he cleared his throat and tried to chase his shyness and obvious blush as he turned toward his cousin to introduce the two. "This is my cousin Laurë. She came to live with us for a while and my father thought you might have a place for her at your shop." he explained.

Laurë smirked noticing the blush on her cousin’s cheeks. She was glad that Jossian brought the subject, because this certainly changed her mood to a more positive one. Of course this didn’t mean it would be beneficial for Keann who seemed to be shier and shier at every moment he was spending with this woman. She had to admit that she was good looking though and looked strong, she liked that. She was glad she took the decision to go there this evening right away.
She let her cousin to introduce her to his friend and her smirk soon switch to a shy smile as the lady looked at her and bowed her head a little in respect. We all know that first impressions were what counted the most. “I do not wish to be a burden though.” She pointed out as politely as she could.
Arien looked from Keann to his cousin; it was somehow hard to believe they were in the same family, the girl seemed not to be as shy as Keann but perhaps it might do well on him. A job huh? She paused for a minute looking inside her shop, perhaps she could use some help and she could make a good model for her future dresses. She could try to show her the basics of sewing so she would have less to do.
She nodded at Keann. “It could be the time I have an apprentice. I will give you the rest tomorrow, you’ll start the day after at eight. You’ll be fine with that?” She asked to Laurë. The young girl nodded and smiled. “Thank you.” She said to Arien.
Arien nodded and smiled looking back at Keann. “However, it would be best if you familiarise yourself with the shop right away; why don’t you two come in?” She asked, of course, she noticed Keann’s blush but she saw it so often, that she grew used to it and assumed it was just a part of his shy personality.

Keann couldn't help but smile when the two girls agreed. He was glad for he knew Arien often worked way too much for her own good. On that, they were the same. Having an apprentice might help her. He doubted his cousin would do good selling dresses and gowns for now, since she was not sued to be around nobility and all, but he had no doubt she was a capable young girl and be able to do many other tasks.
He felt though that he might have to accompany his cousin until she gets the route well by herself. He could just feel it, that she might force him to accompany her. And his father would not help him much about it. The morning was the worst moment of his day, his wrists were hurting, he had to bathe his hands in warm water then apply a cream.
He wondered if his blush got any more red as she asked them to come in. He noticed his cousin's smirk as Arien opened the door for them to come in. He wasn't so certain having the two around was a good idea anymore. He had enough of his father meddling in his affairs, he wished not for another member of his family to do so. Plus, coming in would force him to be around Arien and he bet the subject of the ball would soon be brought. Still, feeling like he didn't have much of a choice, he walked in with Laurë. The place didn't change since last time he came as he kept looking around, trying his best to avoid looking at Arien.

Arien smiled as the two entered into her shop, she wouldn’t stay for too long, perhaps the time she would take to have a small chat with Keann and to give the time to his cousin to visit around the place. It was a pleasant surprise that he came to talk to her because she knew that if he wouldn’t have come the next days, she would’ve been to his shop in person and make sure nothing bad happened to him since that one night.
Laurë smiled as she entered into the shop, the woman sure knew how to make beautiful dresses. Her eyes were wide open in amazement considering the hard work she must’ve put into these and their beauty wasn’t compared to anything she had seen before. She glanced at Keann who seemed terribly awkward and discreetly pushed him forward Arien to maybe start a conversation between them.
“I will go take a look around.” She said deciding to leave the two ‘alone’ for now, she smirked and remained quiet as she explored the wonders of this clothes shop looking for the prettiest dresses that the woman had made in her career.
Arien kept an eye on Keann seeing that there had a bit of tension coming from him. No wonder why, afte what had happened, it must’ve shaken him a little. She felt bad for him if that was the case and hoped that the awkwardness would soon fade away. She wasn’t quite sure about how to start a conversation and nodded as Laurë claimed she wanted to explore her shop to get familiar with it. “How are you feeling?” she then decided to ask to Keann with concern.

The shop sure surprised his cousin. Then again, the countryside never had such fancy dresses, they did not need for them. But when you lived around your leader, you had to make a good impression. The court will always remain the court. It was true though that Arien was making gorgeous dresses, and by herself, it was taking her hours just for one gown. Maybe it was time she had people to help her, like this she could extend her list of clients and produce more dresses in a shorter to please them. He had no idea if Laurë knew how to sew, but he assumed she had basics, at least to fix her own clothes if there ever was tear in them.
He felt himself being bumped into by his cousin and a quick glance had in understand it was on purpose. At first he didn't know why she did it. Did she want him t talk to Arien, say something to the woman? She decided to take a look around, leaving him next to Arien, alone. She could still hear them but she wanted them to stop focusing on her obviously. Keann gulped with difficulty as his stared at Arien from the corner of his eyes. She looked tired a little.
He stared down at the floor though when she asked him how he felt. He wanted to say shameful, sorry for his behavior, that he drank so much, that he needed Faeldor to carry him back home, that he had no idea what things he did and felt terribly embarrassed about it. He gulped once more. "I'm..I'm good." he whispered, still not looking at her.
