~~The Mask ~~
Character Name: Gilwen
Age: 25.
Date of Birth: September 14, 2982 TA.
Race: Man.
Residence: Gondor, quite specifically Minas Tirith.
Profession: She is a servant to the Steward of Gondor. Generally she cleans, does laundry, and serves the tables.
Appearance: Gilwen, though not exceedingly attractive, generally has a well-kept air. She has thick brown wavy hair that falls to just under her shoulder blades, and striking brown eyes that seem to hide most of her emotions. She is petite, standing at a mere five foot five inches, and uses this to her advantage when working: if she stays out of the way, she will never be chastised or scolded.
Gilwen is a bit more on the pale side of the spectrum, spending most of her time indoors doing house-hold work. However at times she will have more of a tan appearance as she will take a day and just lay out in the field.
Generally she looks soft and feminine, but her hands have always been rough, and cracked from heavy use and work. This sometimes causes her to be extremely self conscious of them, and will rarely let them sit still to be seen.
Personality: Gilwen’s grace comes from her personality. She is a balance of nurturing and stoic, allowing her to go home with her family and be their loving daughter, and at work be an effective worker. As with all people, though, there are things that can tip the balance.
She is happiest when running through Pelennor Fields and just taking in the sun and fresh air.
When she is angry, or upset it is quite difficult to spot. She has learned to curb her emotions and hide them. In her line of work nobody cares what troubles you, as long as everything looks spotless. A sure way to know if she is in fact upset is to watch her work. If she cleans fervently and with heavy movements, she is indeed troubled by something.
~~ The Family ~~
Parents: Her father is a soldier named Beregar, her mother is named Niniel.
Sibling(s): She has no siblings.
Spouse: -
Children: -
History: The war always seemed to be on the brink of their nation. As such, Gilwen learned a lot of things very young: respecting the soldiers, respecting the stewards, and above all: valuing humanity and mankind. However, growing up with the impending threat of Mordor left the child very much fearful of battles and war: she was always frightened that her father would march off one day and never return, and sometimes that kept Gilwen up at night.
One day when she was seven, she decided to sneak out of the city walls and frolic around Pelennor fields: something that she was forbidden of doing. She fell in love with the pureness, and the stillness, and at that very second vowed to always find time to just sit outside of the city.
When she was fifteen, she joined the women in the palace to wait and serve the Steward and his two sons. She had a rough start, wanting more than anything to speak to those around her and create long-lasting relationships with her co-workers. However, this got her into much trouble with the head nurse, and for better or for worse, Gilwen lost that part of herself.
As she started working, she began seeing the Steward and his sons more often, and while she never spoke a single word to them she fell into the same lot as the others who worked among them: the ever-present eyes and ears of the castle.
Anything Else?: One ring to rule them all.
