~~The Mask ~~
Character Name: Remlas
Age: Two and Twenty
Date of Birth: March 3rd, 2987.
Race: Man
Residence: Dol Amroth.
Profession: Blacksmith.
Appearance: Remlas, like his younger brother Calon is angel-faced. So, while his body is quite muscular and sturdy, his face seems soft like that of a child. No matter how old he gets, he has his baby-face. It has stormy-blue eyes, and a dazzling flash of smile; something quite characteristic of his family.
His hands are a tad rough, though not overly so, due to his line of work. Remlas spends hours smithy-ing swords each day, and as such as gained a few calluses as well as a few burn scars. He is tall, around 6’3, as is characteristic of the Belfalas bloodline.
He tries hard to seem older than he is, often wearing muted colors such as browns and whites. He is, after all, quite young to be a smithy, and many people cannot look past his years to trust his work.
Personality: If there is anything about the men of the family that sets them apart, it is that they all have ample amounts of testosterone. Like his brother, Remlas is an avid hunter, though recently has had to let it slide due to the growing demand of his work. He and his father run a small little smithy, so he also has a great deal of control for his wild-ish behaviors. While he likes to grow rambunctious, and hang with the boys, Remlas has curbed himself to be a level-headed business man first and foremost.
If that means missing a night at the tavern with his closest buddies, then that would have to be something done. (Whether he is inwardly thrilled or not.) One other thing that sets him apart from his younger brother is that he is much more practical as a result. Calon is quite carefree and easy going. Remlas has become rather reserved. More often than not, though, you can see glimpses of his hidden personality. Especially on topics of hunting.
He is also very family oriented, and loves his family, and their name, more than anything else. This meant that he began apprenticing to be a blacksmith under his father at the age of ten, and he has been working in the family trade for many a year. His grandfather, who had taught his father, is growing old. And soon, Remlas will be swept away to take his place as the smithy of Minas Tirith, as well as uphold the reputation of the family.

History: Remlas was the first born son of the family. He was the center of attention for two whole years, until his brother was born. For a little while, Remlas was jealous that he was no longer the baby of the family, though learned quickly that he was not less loved, and sought to be the second Man of the House. As such, his mother always thought he had grown up too quickly for a little boy.
When he was young, around seven, he tried to run around the older crowd, striving to fit in amongst the other Dol Amrothian boys. Still, despite his eagerness, and ability to keep up with the best of them, he was denied acceptance because of his age. Naturally, so was his little brother, Calon. So, they branched off and did their own thing.
At ten years old, he expressed to his father the desire to learn blacksmithing. This pleased his father, and he quickly took his eldest son under his wing to learn. Remlas was an attentive student, though still made time to romp around with his brother in the woods with his bow and arrow, hunting.
He grew in skill in both archery—perhaps only being bested by his younger brother—and blacksmithing. His goal, perhaps, was to be able to branch out on his own and aide his family as soon as possible. Though, at times it was certainly hard for Calon to understand why his brother was changing.
He was always remarkably close to Calon through the years. Perhaps he avoided women, for he could not find time for them between working and hanging with his brother. He had developed feelings for a few of the daughters of the men that had come to his shop, but never acted upon them. Though, his good looks would have made him an easy suitor.
When Calon moved to Minas Tirith to pursue his horse-handling and help out their grandfather, Remlas was a bit devastated. It felt like he had lost his other half, though he understood that his brother had never really been fond of the confines of Belfalas.
It was then he began to think about courting. It was, perhaps, something to fill the empty time he had, when he was off of work. Still, try as he might he could not find a woman that met what he wanted in a wife.
