Sorsha, of course, had been completely shaken up when she heard that her friend was back. That was incredible and in the same time, she was unable to fully rejoice considering what happened to Laurë. She told her some bits of what happened, pieces of the story. But she wasn’t fully listening, too busy thinking about the miracle that had her still be alive and back in the city. She shook her head energetically when her friend apologized for not writing. “Don’t think about it!” she said, hugging her once more.
Sorsha turned her head but Aldamir was already gone. She asked Laurë to wait a second and ran outside to bring him back. Once inside she returned to her friend. “Let me bring you back to my home.” She said to Laurë. She wanted her brother to be with them. Like this, Sorsha would support her friend but if something happened, he’d be there to help them out. She didn’t want her to be attacked here after what just happened.
She held Laurë as she made her stand. She dusted off her cape some being gazing at her with worries in her eyes. “You’ll be fine?” she asked. The walk was not all that short and it was getting more and more crowded outside. Whatever was happening outside the walls of the city, it was affecting Minas Tirith or its market much.

Laurë blinked and nodded a little as her friend seemed not to mind it too much. She would’ve done so if it wasn’t for the war. Sorsha was the closest friend she used to have and she certainly didn’t want to lose the girl because of something as little as not writing to her. However, she knew that she would’ve felt bad if she didn’t apologize not to have done so.
She stared up at Sorsha as she told her that she would bring her to her house. Her family was nice and she didn’t think that they would bug her too much. For now she just needed something that would manage to change her mind. She just hoped that she wasn’t going to be a burden. It might seem to be a drastic change knowing how she used to be before but she just didn’t have the energy anymore, or at least, not yet.
She stood up as Sorsha helped her. First, she felt a bit dizzy losing her balance for a few moments but she assumed that she would be fine for now, no matter how exhausted she was she was still stubborn at the idea that she as strong. “Yes.” She murmured with a small nod to her friend. For now, she would be fine. She slowly walked out along with her. She was a bit surprised that Aldamir was still there but she didn’t say anything. Mineas Tirith was still as crowdie as it usually was. It gave her a small headache but she was going to be fine or at least she hoped so.

Aldamir wasn’t exactly sure how to act around the two girls. For now, Sorsha was the one supporting her as they walked. He could hear her talk but he was unable to understand the words for she was whispering. Probably things to reassure her or something. HE had no idea what you were supposed to say to someone in such a situation. They were a little in front of him, about a feet or two. He was making sure to keep them in his sight and push anyone that might be getting in the way, gently of course.
As they walked, Aldamir was able to stare at Laurë. She was a wreck. Whatever happened, it changed her, maybe for life. In a way, he was able to understand that. If someone was to kill anyone in his family, his mother, little Balder, even Sorsha, and he couldn’t do anything about it, he’d feel terrible as well. Still, now she was only an empty shell, when she used to be so full of life. To a point it was sometimes annoying. No need to be gentle here, she got on his nerves. But for now, she was down and Aldamir never hit people when they already lost everything.
They arrived home and Aldamir opened the door for them. Their mother ran out to them and brought the girls to Sorsha’s room so that Laurë may rest. Balder arrived to his brother, all worried too. Aldamir placed a hand on his shoulder and rubbed his softly. The women were in the room so it was his role to reassure his little brother. He decided to wait for the girls, in case they needed him again for something.

Laurë wasn’t very talkative as they all headed back to Aldamir and Sorsha’s home. She listened to the girl as she tried to comfort her in any possible way. She wished she could cheer up a little but for now it was still hard for her to deal with the news. She didn’t know how long it would take for her to get over it, perhaps she would never she didn’t know. The only thing she knew is that only time would tell and this was sort of an annoying statement. No matter how right they were when people said that, it wasn’t something that you wanted to hear. At least, not right now.
Soon they arrived at their home; she was immediately greeted by their mother who dragged Sorsha’s bedroom. The only good thing that happened for now was that she was able to hold her tears back. Perhaps Sorsha helped with that while she listened to her back at the tea shop.
They forced her to sit down and she did so. Being back in a bed made her somehow realize how tired she was. Her eyes were heavy and her whole body just wanted to crash and rest after four-five days of traveling from her hometown to there. The fact that she overworked herself maybe didn’t help into her and feeling better but getting her into a safe place was the people’s priority for she had been lucky enough already managing to survive to such a tragic event. She couldn’t hide that she had been insomniac the past few days that she had travelled from her town to here...

Laurë was obviously quite tired. So Ciriyon had her lie down under the cover, after taking off her shoes and cape, to let her sleep. No need to talk or decide what to do now, the girl needed rest first hand. Sorsha was still shaken so their mother had her leave the room, holding her shoulder nicely but still with strength. Once out of the room, letting her sleep, she explained the situation to both Aldamir and Balder. The man simply nodded, thinking it was the best thing to do indeed. Broken as she was, she needed some alone time, some rest, and perhaps a bath. Seeing that he was not needed anymore, he decided to take his leave.
Sorsha was trying to deal with the news of both seeing her friend back and that her whole family died. IT was hard to be happy when you had to face such a terrible thing. But her mother said she should be there for her friend and so she stayed home and tried to focus on the sewing work she had to do, even though it was hard and she kept dozing off.
Once returned to the marketplace, Aldamir thanked his friend for doing his job while he was busy. The man asked no explanation, thinking he’d have some in due time. Besides, Aldamir’s face was not inviting anyone to ask him questions. Luckily for him, he had work but every time he had nothing to do but to stare at everyone and make sure nothing bad happened, he wondered if Laurë was fine. Perhaps he should go find her uncle... He chose not to. For now she was resting and safe. There will be time to warn her uncle .

Once Laurë was left in Sorsha’s bed, she curled up tightly and kept the blanket wrapped tight around her body. It didn’t take long before her eyes closed of exhaustion. Some tears still fell off her cheeks, wetting the pillow but since she was too tired, after only a few minutes, she fell asleep. She didn’t dream of anything for now, a few hours passed by as her exhausted body took some rest in the meanwhile she finally slept.
Everything was blank, until she started dreaming of the event almost feeling the weight crashing on her back once again, she quickly opened her eyes, her forehead being sweaty she quickly sat up trying to understand what was going on and where she was. She didn’t remember of having such a room...wait, it wasn’t her room; it was Sorsha’s. Soon the events came back to her mind and she sighed passing a hand on her face before slowly standing up. Her back was killing her but she could cope.
She glanced at the window of the bedroom, wondering about what time it was. Seeing the sun she guessed it was about to be diner time, she slowly walked downstairs. Her eyes were still red and puffy but her skin was less white than it used to be while she firstly arrived.

Aldamir still had many work to do and could not be there. But they all knew it in the house. He was not to return before the evening. IT wasn’t always easy. The image of Laurë, coming back after a little more than a month, broken, lingered in the back of his mind. At least she was safe with his family. With time, she’d be fine. You could bet on Sorsha to help her bring back her mood. In no time, she’d be back to her old self and Aldamir will wish she had not come back. Yeah, the fight. He knew the only reason why because no harsh words were said between the two, it was because of her state. Saying anything from him would be inappropriate considering the situation and she was too shaken to say anything.
Before the end of his duty, he had made up the decision to go fetch her uncle. He vaguely recalled where she was. And if he was lost, he knew her uncle was some sort of jeweller. With those two indications, he’d sure be able to find him. Once a guard came to relieve him, he left in the direction of Keann’s shop. He asked some help to find it to an old woman going home and she told him the right way. Arrived there, he was greeted by a young man. He assumed it was her cousin, the one she was so often talking of, making fun of him. Poor guy, he thought once more. He didn’t seem that bad.
He asked for his father and if they knew a girl named Laurë. Once he got the confirmation she was indeed of their family, he explained the situation. The two were astonished by the news. They could not believe it. But Jossian asked to be brought to her and Aldamir explained she was at his home with his sister and proposed to bring him there.
The two men both arrived at the house as the diner was placed on the table and everyone sat to eat. Aldamir explained to his parents who the man was and they showed him where Laurë was.

Laurë noticed that almost everyone was there, except for Aldamir. The attention was soon turned to her and her mother invited her to the table, next to Sorsha was where she would sit. She didn’t eat though, not being hungry. Their father started a conversation along with Rabryn, not too loud as if they didn’t want to disturb her. They all gave her a small smile; she assumed that they all knew of the news however she was glad that they didn’t question her about anything.
After a short time though, Jossian arrived with a worried expression. She quickly recognized him and stood up. He embraced her warmly asking her if she was alright, placing a hand on her chin to examine her somehow and make sure she was fine. She nodded lightly and her eyes watered up again but managed to remain like this. She was just a bit spaced off because she just woke up but she was still tired and knew that it would take her more than one day to recover from all of this.
Jossian thanked them to take care of Laurë and the girl bowed at them whispering a thank you. She glanced at Aldamir and nodded at him a bit murmuring him a thank you once again from when he took care of her. He told them that he would take care of the girl and they both went towards the door.

The reunion was rather touching. The uncle obviously loved his niece and worried for her. But the news of her being alive when he thought the opposite was a good one and for it, he was ready to do everything to make her feel better and forget about it all. Aldamir advanced and introduced the man to his family as Laurë’s uncle. He didn’t exactly catch his name but it didn’t seem much important for the moment.
Everyone seemed to understand that Laurë might prefer to be with her family. At least, what remained of it. No one objected when her uncle thanked them all and said they should go back home. His father Ceonvan proposed to walk them home but Jossian objected, not wanting to take more of their time, especially when they were eating.
Aldamir caught Laurë’s gaze and saw her mouthing a thank you in his direction. He just nodded in response. To him, he did his duty. Perhaps now she would understand what it meant to be a guard and take care of everyone in the city. He moved away as Jossian, holding the girl in his arms, walked pass him. Sorsha ran to the door to see her friend before she was to leave, and told her to come any time she needed to talk or being with someone. Aldamir joined his sister, watching them go for a moment before closing the door.
