It was now her second day in Mineas Tirith, the teenager wasn’t still used to be living there. After resting for twelve hours, she took a breakfast and decided to go explore around with the approval of her uncle and the warning of not coming back home too late. The girl agreed without objections; she needed some time alone, some time to think about what was going on in her life and make a point sort of. She was glad that Arien gave her the day off to rest and familiar herself with the town. She promised to her uncle that she wouldn’t go too far from their place and if she did, well, she trusted her direction sense. After all, it was in her genes. Laurë walked out of the shop, and closed the door behind her as she waved good bye to her uncle and cousin. She grabbed the small purse that her mother had made for her just in case she found something that suited and matched her tastes. Today, she would try to find a quiet place where she could just sit and think. That was her objective. However, as she wandered out, the girl was still shocked by the people that were roaming around, kids playing in the street, several people chatting and laughing, people working and doing their duties surrounded the streets as she began her walk. She couldn’t hide she was feeling very uneasy compared to the slow motion and peaceful town she used to live at with her mother. She frowned, holding her purse closely not wanting anyone to steal it and held her breath as more and more people filled streets. Her ears heard every laugh, every conversation and every comment that were being made around and even further. “God.” She muttered under her breath. Where were these people coming from?! They couldn’t possibly live all there! She needed her quiet place, now. She was starting to have a headache hearing all these voices coming from everywhere, thus making her loose her sight from her purse for a few seconds, but that was during the time, that within a few seconds, her purse was snatched away from her by a man. Laurë gasped at this immediately spotting the man. “HEY YOU, GIVE IT BACK” She ran after the man, trying to keep her concentration on her target but failed as she was being pushed away by the crowd of people, her back slammed against the wall, she winced. “nuts!” she muttered under her breath closing her eyes feeling her breathing going faster and faster, she knew she was hyperventilating, she rested a hand on her heart and closed her eyes, knowing that she would hate this new home town of hers. She wanted to go back home.

Aldamir arrived this morning to his spot of guard. He was ordered to patrol around the marketplace. It was the noisiest spot of all Minas Tirith, also the place where you were the most likely to get something stolen from you, to have quarrels between thieves, clients and shop owners. It was not resting place at all, that was for sure. And while many other young guards of his age liked to come here to eye the ladies do their market, he barely stared at them. They were only people to protect like everyone else. He was not to give them any special treatment, even if they were pretty.
It started rather calmly, considering where he was. No much problems so far. People were slowly filling in the place as shops opened and some started to install their little kiosk in the streets. So far, everyone was at their rightful place. It was then he heard a shout. A woman asking someone to give it back. He frowned and scanned the area. A thief, most certainly. But he needed to spot where it came from to know where the man was heading. He finally noticed a man running with a purse in hand. He had no idea who screamed but he ran in direction of the man to stop him, along with a friend and fellow guard of his.
They managed to apprehend him. Apparently, his friend caught a sight of the poor woman the purse belonged to so he took it and went to her as Aldamir brought the man down to prison. Luckily it was not so far away from there.
But in the meantime, his friend arrived in front of Laurë, ready to charm her as much as possible in order to have a certain compensation for the hard work of running after the thief. "This is yours I believe." he said to her as he arrived by her side, showing the purse.

It was at that right moment, that Laurë didn’t find such a big town attractive. Why people wanted to live in something like that? Her irregular breathing forced her to look down until she saw two feet close to hers and heard a voice that she assumed was directed to her. "This is yours I believe." Seeing the purse she tried to take deep breath and looked up at the man who appeared to be a guard. What a fast service...she thought with a sigh once she calmed down, she regained her composure to look straight at the man.
“It is, thank you.” She said reaching her hand out to grab for the purse, she certainly didn’t care much about the man holding it; she wanted her purse, it was the only thing that reminded her of her old town...and her now past life. He was better to be a gentleman and give it back to her or else, she would have to deal with it by herself.
“May I have it back?” For now she would remain polite, just in case. She did notice now that his ‘friends’ were around. She wasn’t used to the presence of guards; her town used to be so small, they only needed two or three on service, the rest could do other things like training in case orcs came to invade. However, she felt the urge to tell him that she could’ve gotten him by herself; she was a strong woman after all! But for now, she would remain quiet and polite. She wanted her purse after all!

The ride to the prison was a rather short one. Since the marketplace was such a busy spot, they had built one close to it, so that they would not have to walk all the way to the other, bigger one, on another tier of the city. Aldamir locked the thief in. He knew the sentence would probably not be that severe. Many of those thieves were poor with no home or money to buy food. They were stealing whatever they could in order to live. But Aldamir had no sympathy for them. It was not the rightful thing to do. They wanted money, they only had to work, even if it was just by entertaining the crowd doing pirouettes.
Once the thief well locked up, he waved at the gards working at the prison and returned at his position. He could not see his friend when he should ahve been done giving the purse to the woman. Frowning, disagreeing with his lack of serious, he looked around for him. If he did not know the girl, a man in the Gondorian guard uniform was easy to spot and so he found him in no time.
He walked to him and placed a hand on his shoulder to show his presence. In the meantime, his friend had been hitting on the girl. He took the purse from his ahnd and handed it to the woman. "Be more careful next time miss." he simply said. A quick look at the girl told him she was not from here. Her clothes were not of the type you see around here, not even on the poors. She obviously came from some outer cities and was not used to the frenetic way of life of Minas Tirith. Once he gave her the purse, he didn't care anymore about her or how ahrsh his words might have sounded and turned his back at her.

The guard seemed to be a persistent one, he still didn’t give her the purse, however, he was rather pleasant to talk to but that was until another man came and snatched the purse away from him to give it back. She blinked; what kind of guard was that?! She huffed at the man and muttered him a thank you and that was certainly meant to just be polite because even if he was a guard, he didn’t deserve her respect unlike the man before her.
Be more careful, easy for someone like him to say that. Humph, who did he think he was? She didn’t like his face at all at that-too straight for her taste! That’s when she decided to see how far she could go with the other man and went on the tip of her toes to peck the cheek of his friend. “You are much more polite, you must be strong do deal with someone like him~” She cooed, of course, speaking of Adlamir.
A small smirk appeared on the corner of her lips as she eyed him in the meanwhile, wondering about how he would react to her words. “I like that~” she added trying not to snicker under her breath. Oh that would just be a whole party of fun, she knew it!

Aldamir stopped when she heard the girl talk of him to his friend. He took a deep breath and turned around. His friend, although liking this change of attitude, wasn't so sure of what to do. "You have to forgive my friend, he just doesn't know how to talk to pretty lost girls. He needs to relax." the other guard replied.
Aldamir walked back in their direction. He didn't like this little scene but he supposed he might have been a little rough on her. It was not her fault if she knew nothing on the city and its dangers. He sighed and, after containing himself so he would not speak too harshly at her this time, he said: "I am sorry if I sounded rude to you. But we might not be able to help you this well next time if you don't look out. If you need help to go around the city, we can find you someone who will carry you anywhere you wish to go." He did make an effort. His job was not an easy one, if he had to watch out not to hurt everyone's pride along the way, it would simply be bloody impossible to work. She had to hold on to her things better and not be caught by every new things put before her. Sure the city was big, with products from all around Middle-Earth and people from many different countries that spoke many languages but it was all the more a reason to be careful

Laurë soon manage to have that innocent look back as she gazed at his friend when he spoke. Playing the role of the cute girl, in fact, she would surely have fun with him even if it was just shameless flirting at the moment. She nodded as he spoke of the stuck up man and saw him walking back; oh this was going to be good! She thought mentally snickering as she blinked her eyelashes in a charming way towards Adlamir’s friend.
She looked at the other guard, as if she still as offended by his harsh words, wanting to see what he was going to come out with. “I am perfectly fine by myself. I was just caught off guard since it’s my first day here.” She told him; she didn’t want to be followed by some random person and have a stalker who knew whatever she was doing, wherever she was going. It would annoy her to the most, besides, she knew how to deal with it by herself, she was old enough and no longer a kid! “I accept your apologizes though.” She mused a hidden devilish smile appeared onto her lips that only Adlamir could notice. Oh yes, he was going to be one of her targets in the city!

Aldamir felt she was only making him lose his time there and that annoyed him. She obviously was fine, she got what was stolen from her back, she didn't need them anymore. He was no tourist guide and had no intention of showing the city to someone who just arrived. It was the problem with people who was coming to Minas Tirith, they never saw something that big, that populated and frenetic. Because of that, they were the easiest preys for all the thieves and charlatans. Maybe in her small town there was no such things and the guards could spare an hour helping them out, but that was only because they had nothing better to do. Aldamir on the other hand, had a job and intended to do it.
He was almost fuming when seeing her devilish smile as she said she accepted his apologies. It only confirmed his thought that she was playing with them. He'd be quite happy to get rid of her and focus on the task at hand instead. He nodded and turned toward the other guard. "Then we should leave you and return to our duty." he said although it was obviously more meant to his friend than the girl. He wanted to make him understand that while on the job, it was not the time to flirt with a girl.
He was about to leave her when a feminine voice calling his name stopped him. He soon saw his sister running towards him. Frowning, he waited for her to be by their side. He wasn't all that surprised to see her, their mother probably asked her if she could run an errand, get her something in particular. Sorsha arrived near her brother and waved at the other guard. "I came here to get some linen for mother but our usual merchant's not here. Do you know anything about it?" she asked her brother. "He asked to change the spot of his kiosk to the tier above." Aldamir explained. The man apparently had enough money to go for a more high class clientele. And so, he placed his shop closer to the castle.
Sorsha widened her eyes in desperation. "Oh no I'm not gonna run all the way up there for some linen!" she exclaimed. Aldamir shrugged to her, showing he didn't see much what he could do for her about that.

Laurë simply smiled at both of the guard, finding it rather entertaining to their despite. Not that she cared much; after all, the rude one looked forward to it to happen. She was about to leave them alone once and for good until a new figure appeared into the scene. She stared at the new girl curiously; she seemed to be of her age and perhaps, she knew a bit more about this city so she could tell her if there had any quiet spot around where she could hang out. Hearing her speaking, she frowned a bit; she was his sister? Hopefully she wasn’t as stuck up as he was or else, it would be a highly disappointing meeting.
She was starting to be a bit uneasy about everything, now that she had nothing to do with them anymore, perhaps it was time for her to go and explore the town by herself. Now that she was aware of thieves and stuff, she was fine by her own and besides, she knew how to defend herself! She wasn’t some weak girl that constantly needed to be protected!
At the thought, she wore her purse back and glanced at the group. “If you excuse me, I will continue my tour.” She said to them three feeling that she was too much in the small group, she turned around, ready to go explore the town, and gave it a take two.

"Where's that other guy, you know, the one papa believes has better prices but mother always kept saying ti was because it wasn't as good as the other one?" Sorsha asked, as if she had no idea there was someone by their side. Aldamir sighed, trying to recall. The description wasn't the best. He mentioned oen or two merchants he knew but admitted he wasn't the one who could tell which one she was referring to.
Laurë interrupted them as she said she would take her leave. Sorsha seemed finally to notice the grl and realize the two guards were around her, which certainly meant they were working. "Oh, was I interrupting something?" she asked looking at all of them. Aldamir was about to reply but his friend did it before him. "Only your brother being told to relax.. again." he said with a mischievous grin toward the other guard. Sorsha stared at her brother and said: "I keep telling him that but he never listens."
Aldamir took a deep breath, not liking being the fool in this. "Good luck with your errand." he said to his sister as a goodbye and went back to his spot. She laughed and bid farewell to the guard as well as her brother before walking in the same direction of the girl, catching up with her. She grabbed her arm so she'd turn around as she wanted to talk to her. "I'm sorry if I interrupted you." she told her.

Laurë smirked as she continued to walk again and explore the town, she would have to remember where this guard was working because he was oh so easy to taunt; she couldn’t let that pass. Besides, the fact that he was being somewhat of a stuck up didn’t help his situation in her eyes much. Not to add that she had to admit that his friend, was sort of cute, it would give her more reasons to come around.
However, she blinked as the girl from earlier came to her and grabbed her arm; she couldn’t hide that it startled her at first but she turned around. Ah, she apologized. When she mentioned that she ‘interrupted’. It wasn’t as if it was the case, after all, she was mostly annoying him at the time being. There weren’t much to interrupt which was why she giggled lightly and smiled at the girl.
“Don’t worry, to be honest, I was annoying him when you came.” She mused with a smirk, hoping that she wouldn’t take it bad since it was apparently her brother. “So it’s all good.” She added with a wide grin glancing back in the direction of where the guards returned to their duties.

Sorsha stared at the girl from head to toe. She sure didn't look like someone from around here. And she said she annoyed her brother. She didn't find it so hard to belive, Aldamir was always so serious, it didn't need much for that to happen. "Yeah, I know he can be a pain sometimes. He just takes everything too seriously. So when someone gets out of their place, it annoys him." she replied to it. She knew her brother well after all.
"Well, I won't bother you any longer." she added after a moment of silence. She smiled and left in direction of a merchant his brother pointed out. With their usual one not there anymore, she had to go looking for another one, hoping it wouldn't bother their mother.
Aldamir managed to get a glance of the two girls talking together. He had no idea what his sister could be saying to her and in a way didn't want to know. He just hoped it had nothing to do about him. He doubted to be his sister's favorite topic but considering the situation. He also wanted to keep an eye on her, just to be sure nothing would happen to her. That attitude might annoy Sorsha, but he simply didn't want anyone taking advantage of his sister, no matter how strong she claims to be.

Laurë smiled and nodded at what the other girl said, it was true that he seemed to take everything overly too seriously. She wondered if he ever loosened up once in his life. Ah well, not that she cared much about that man much, besides, all she wanted was some entertainment and they gave it to her. Thanks to the other guard! She grinned at the thought while listening to the other girl.
However, when the girl said that she wouldn’t stay around anymore, Laurë decided to try and socialize some more besides, she could use a friend around this large town. She paused for a few seconds watching the girl go before going back to her. “Hey, sorry if I bother you but I was wondering if you knew some quiet places around.” She was hoping that the girl knew some great spots, besides, she seemed as if she knew the town well and she wouldn’t mind spending some time along with her for she seemed much friendlier than her brother.
“I am new around, but I guess my clothes gave it away already.” She said with a small laugh. “I was wondering if there had some quieter places.” She explained hoping that she would agree on showing her a bit around.

Sorsha didn't expect the girl to run after her. Not that she minded much. They seemed to be of the same stature so she doubted that girl could all that easily take on her like her brothers and father seem to worry so much about. It was the price to pay for being the only girl in the family, she guessed.
Besides, that young woman didn't seem all that scary. And all she wanted was some quiet place to be. She could understand that. Besides, it must have taken a lot of guts to ask a stranger when you've just arrived. She definitely was growing up in her esteem. "It's true the marketplace is not the quietest palce around. I think outside of the gates to every tiers, it must be the noisiest. There's a small chapel not very far with houses we use as a hospital. It's rather quiet there." she replied to her.
"I can show it to you, if you don't mind following me for a little bit. I just want to see that merchant my brother told me about. I'm Sorsha, by the way." she introduced herself, proposing this as a solution for her. Of course, if she didn't want to walk around with her, she could still give her directions in order to get there.

Laurë smiled as she answered to her and she was more than glad to know that there still had a quiet place in such a town. She was rather eager to go and visit it. She wouldn’t mind following the girl, the more she spoke to her the more she figure out how they seemed to be of the same nature, considering their personalities, she assumed that there weren’t a lot of women in town who knew how to stick for themselves and hang around alone without being afraid of possible bad things that could happen to them.
She knew that there had nothing to worry about, for she was now aware that guards did their duties well-even if some were still stuck up. She chuckled a bit at the thought and smiled, she wouldn’t mind having a little tour of the town along with that! Besides, she’ll feel better about hanging out with another girl than having a tour by a random guard like this one told her before.
She nodded at the girl. “I wouldn’t mind, my uncle gave me a small visit but I didn’t see much yesterday.” She replied. She smiled once again at the girl as she introduced herself. “I’m Laurë, it is nice to meet you!” She knew that she was probably the only human in the whole city to have an elfin name and if the girl knew about it, she just hoped that she wouldn’t question her too much for she was still holding grudge for the main source of her getting forced to move from her home town.
